MoviePrint is capable of extracting still images from videos, which may not sound like much for regular users, but it can be invaluable to those who need an overview of a movie's scene. With its smart functionality, the software can detect individual scenes and automatically generate screenshots of you. Furthermore, its well-designed controls allow you to make any changes you want on the fly. You can have separate thumbnails or an entire grid in just a few seconds, without having to put in too much effort.

The software is absolutely free, and it doesn't come with any hidden fees or restrictions. You can download it in no more than a few seconds and install it just as fast. There are no complex settings to go through along the way, and you don't need powerful hardware to run the application.

Once you import a video, the software will get to work immediately and generate a 4x4 grid with snapshots from that video. You can enlarge them individually if you want to inspect them, save them as separate images or save the entire grid as one picture. Additionally, MoviePrint lets you mark a tile as the "In" shot and another as the "Out", which makes it get new images, but only from the segment between the marked shots.

The software lets you generate a new grid at a moment's notice, and make it anything between 2x2 and 6x6. Furthermore, MoviePrint can start scanning the entire video again to detect new shots. Regardless of what layout you're looking for, the software lets you replace the image within individual tiles, by clicking and dragging in the video's timeline, around the relevant segment. Another thing you can do is cut the video if you want the program to look for shots only in a specific segment.

MoviePrint's user interface and controls are easy to learn, but you will need to spend a few minutes trying them out before you can say you've mastered the program. All the tools you need are neatly arranged within immediate reach and in menus that smoothly slide in, so not only will you be able to immediately find the options you're looking for, but you will also do everything in a comfortable manner.

Whether you need a visual index for each of your videos or you want to share highlights from a good movie, MoviePrint is definitely worth going for, due to its smart and straightforward capabilities.

Pros

You can extract images from images in just a few seconds. The software makes it quite easy to customize your thumbnails sheet. It places a wide range of useful tools at your disposal, which aren't hard to master.

Cons

You need to experiment with the software's controls a bit because they may seem a bit confusing at first.
